JOB SPECIFICATION FOR ACCOUNTS SENIOR / MANAGER

 

Candidate Requirements

•    Someone who sees themselves as more than just an accountant
•    Motivated to be part of an ambitious, growing firm
•    Attention to detail and understanding how important the detail is
•    The ability to work across a number of jobs, and be a quick thinker, reporting directly to clients and partners
•    The ability to think ‘outside the box’ and be a creative and lateral thinker
•    The ability to communicate complex matters to clients in simple terms
•    Be open to problem solving and offer a diverse range skills to the team and clients
•    Excellent communication skills and the understanding of client service being number 1
•    Ability to motivate and lead team members
•    Qualified ACA or ACCA with strong technical skills
•    A team player, not afraid to roll up their sleeves and ‘muck in’ when required
•    Experience dealing with OMBs and the issues specific to them

Responsibilities

•    Preparation and finalising sole trader, partnership and company accounts
•    Preparation of corporation tax returns
•    Management accounts
•    Overview of general tax planning such as profit extraction
•    Preparing/assisting with business plans and forecasts
•    Ad hoc project work
•    Reviewing work for and training of less senior team members
•    Managing team and client deadlines
•    Reporting to and liaising directly with partners and clients
•    Assisting partners with practice management functions to grow the firm
